Uraguayan agent opens door to Argentina for Broughton Ales

Broughton Brewery has received its first order from a major supermarket in Argentina, Jumbo Retail.

Broughton has been exporting to Uruguay for a number of years. The order for Jumbo in Argentina came through their Uruguayan agent- an excellent example of cross border co-operation. 

Dark imported beers are very popular in these countries. Champion Double Ale, Old Jock and Scottish Oatmeal Stout were the three beers chosen by Jumbo Retail.

There seems to be a large Scottish connection in Uruguay and Argentina to where many Scots emigrated in the 19th  and early 20th centuaries.
