Lochcarron Receives Boost from Major Media Launch of Hello Kitty Tartan in Japan.

Lochcarron’s design team worked with Sanrio, the owners of the Hello Kitty brand, which has a massive following in the Far East.

As reported on the Kyodo News web site: A series of Hello Kitty goods with the theme of British tartan will go on sale in September both in Japan & overseas to mark the 35th anniversary of the feline character. It’s producer Sanrio Co. said: Lochcarron of Scotland, the world’s leading tartan fabric maker, designed the pink tartan, as Britain is Kitty’s home.

The various kinds of tartan themed goods will include stationery, bags, scarves and sundry items.
