New York City taxis get dresed up in Tartan designed and prodcuced by Lochcarron of Scotland

Sir Sean Connery certainly was "Dressed to Kilt" for the charity fashion extravaganza in New York this year.

Looking resplendent in his New York tartan kilt, he and his wife, Micheline, laughed as they remembered how Lochcarron of Scotland received the measurements for the kilt when it was made in 2002. The vital statistics were sent from his yacht in the Bahamas during the night. Three days later the kilt was personnally delivered to Sir Sean in New York, complete with a picture of the ilt crossing the Scottish Border to prove the authenticity.

Sir Sean, of course, needed the kilt to lead the march of 8,000 pipers and drummers throught he streets of New York on tartan day to raise money for charity. Also wearing the New York City tartan for the parade was Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The New York City taxis drivers were not to be left out with the parade led by four taxis replendant in their tartan livery.
