The seed operation is completely integrated and has on site micro propagation/minituber production, disease testing utilizing latest P.C.R. type diagnostics and a breeding operation producing in excess of 12,000 new cultivars annually.

Higgins produces around 200 hectares of seed themselves and contract a further area with selected farmers of around 600 hectares.

Seed is exported worldwide, with major markets including Thailand, Saudi Arabia and Algeria as well as to traditional UK and European destinations.
