Although established in 1825 by Long John MacDonald, our company has undergone several changes of ownership, particularly in the last 50 years. Presently owned by the Japanese Whisky distiller, Nikka, since 1989, we are expected to carry out our business as a small independent Scottish Distiller and whisky producer.

With a staff of around 20 we currently produce 1 million litres of pure alcohol per year and export bottled and bulk whiskies. Obviously our main export market is Japan, where our brand is in 7th position in volume of case sales of imported whiskies. We are also exporting to Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, France and a little in the United States.

We would like to see our brands achieve greater sales in the domestic market and abroad.
